The Last Bookstore is two floors of second-hand books, original art studios, and a mini-cafe. The bookstore was one of the many reasons why I wanted to move downtown as I prefer to buy books secondhand. Row after row in the classical literature aisle, I relived the PTSD of 1990s culture wars about the literary canon from my undergrad days at Bryn Mawr College, where the classics still meant white, male, European or Euro-American authors. It was the visit to the science fiction area where true diversity was found.
